Melissa
Lea Chapman, 32, of Queen Creek, Arizona, returned to the
presence of her Father in Heaven on August 2, 2011.
Being the oldest of six children, Melissa was a delightful
daughter and sister to her younger siblings. She was born
on March 27, 1979 in Provo, Utah to Myron Scott Butler and
Helen Williams Butler. After spending the majority of her
childhood in Cincinnati, Ohio, she studied at Brigham Young
University where she earned her Bachelors degree in Family
Sciences with and emphasis in Home Economics Education.
Melissa served an honourable mission for the LDS church
in the Philippines Angeles Mission. Upon return, she met
her eternal companion Eric Joel Chapman and they were married
in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple on August 7, 2004. Her
role as a full-time mother and homemaker was fulfilled as
she cared for her three children: Kirk, Madeleine, and Tabitha.
Melissa had many talents including cooking, sewing, decorating
and selfless service and has richly blessed the lives of
those around her. In addition to her parents, spouse, and
children she is survived by her siblings: Kimberly (Scott)
Tingey, Joshua, Aaron, Camille, and Jared as well as numerous
nieces and nephews. Melissa will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011
at 4:00 pm in the Lone Peak LDS Ward Chapel, 285 North Matterhorn
Drive, Alpine, Utah. Family and friends may call on Friday
afternoon from 3:30 to 4:00 pm prior to services. Interment,
Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona. Funeral Directors
