Lorrane Cram Griner Hutchings

Jean
was born in Detroit, Michigan, September 26, 1926, to Woodruff
Bryan and Reva Ileta Jacobs Cram. She and her family moved
to Denver, Colorado, in 1945.
Jean graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit in 1943.
She attended the University of Detroit, University of Colorado
in Denver, and Brigham Young University.
Jean worked as a model in Detroit and Denver, and worked
as an office manager for a dentist in Idaho Falls. Singing
was her passion. She sang with the Choralairs in Idaho Falls
and with the Civic Oratorio Choir in Provo. She served as
PTA president in elementary and junior high schools in Idaho
Falls. Jean was always active in politics and was a delegate
to the Colorado State Republican Convention.
Jean married M. Rondo Griner on May 3, 1949, in the Salt
Lake Temple. They resided in Mesa, Arizona, Denver, Colorado,
Salt Lake City, Utah, Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Arvada, Colorado.
They are the parents of five children.
Rondo died February 23, 1976, in Colorado. On June 15,
1979, she married R. Bay Hutchings, MD, of Sacramento, California.
Together they served as Mission Presidents in Toulouse,
France, Geneva, Switzerland and Kinshasa, Zaire.
Jean is survived by her children: Lynda (James Torgesen)
of Old Town, Idaho; Karen (Dale Munger) of Grehsam, Oregon;
Holly (Jerry Hoke) of South Jordan, Utah; Nancy (Lonnie
Woodard), of Provo, Utah; and Murray Rondo (Jolynn Francom)
also of Provo, and by her step-children: David (Marilyn
Madsen) of Fresno, California; Suana (Dallas Lowe) of Roosevelt,
Utah; Kent (Jeannie Roth) of Elk Grove, California; Byron
(Lorna Germaine) of Sacramento, California; Ross (Carol
Connelly) of Roseville, California; and Carla (Darrell Haskin)
of Fayetteville, Georgia. Jean’s is also survived
by her sister Naida Marie Cram Hutchings of Provo and brother,
D. Bruce Cram of Missouri. Jean and Bay have 65 grandchildren,
128 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23, 2012 at
11:00 am, in the Edgemont 11th LDS Ward Chapel, 3050 North
Mohave Lane, Provo, Utah. Family and friends may call Sunday
evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Edgemont 11th Ward Chapel,
and also Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services
at the church. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
