Ruth
Jewkes Morgan, loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great
grandmother, sister and wife, age 96 was joyfully reunited
with her husband, Everett Leroy Morgan on September 5, 2010.
Born on April 30, 1914 in Orangeville, Utah. Ruth was
the daughter of William Andrew Jewkes and Ermina Estella
Scovill. Ruth was the seventh of twelve children. She was
preceded in death by her husband, seven sisters and two
brothers; Ada Thayne, Calvin Jewkes, Ora Leavitt Pope, Silva
Luke, Reah Burns, Leah Jewkes, Erma Rhinehart, Rex Jewkes
and Mabel Robertson.
Ruth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints. She held various positions, teaching
Primary, Young Women and Relief Society also she was a Stake
Missionary for several years and a choir member most of
her life. She enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with
her husband and children. Ruth's family and the Church were
foremost in her life. Music was her greatest enjoyment and
she loved to sing with her very musical family. She had
many choice childhood memories of summers spent at the family
sawmill in Joe's Valley, Emery County, Utah.
She is survived by her two daughters, Myrna Ruth Davis
of Concord, California and Joyce Morgan of Alpine, Utah
also six grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and
one great-great grandchild. Still living are two brothers;
Donald Jewkes of Glenwood Springs, Colorado and Glendon
Jewkes of Kamas, Utah
Graveside services for Ruth will be held Friday, September
10, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the Brigham City Cemetery, 495 East
500 South, Brigham City, Utah. Family and friends may call
on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to graveside
at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American
Fork, Utah.
