Norman
"Bill" Watkins, our loved father, grandfather
and brother passed away peacefully on October 28, 2011.
Norman was born on January 29, 1922 in Brigham City, Utah
to Nola and Norman Victor Watkins. On February 22, 1946
he married Verla Hillyard.
Norman graduated from Utah State in 1955 with his doctorate
degree. He served in World War II and retired from the Air
Force as a Major in 1970. After retiring from IBM in 1982
Norman and his wife served a mission to Houston, Texas and
was later called to serve in the temple.
Norman faithfully served in various callings in the LDS
church. He had a great love for his wife, family and friends.
He had a cheerful and kind nature that blessed all who knew
him. We as a family express appreciation and respect for
the time we spend with him.
Norman is survived by his children; Jack Watkins, Bountiful,
Patsy (Steve) Hight, Midway, Don (Peggy) Watkins, Alpine,
Tom (Doni) Watkins, Alpine, brother; Richard Mendon) Watkins
also 23 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren.
Our family wishes to thank those at Ashford Memory Care
for the tender care and support given to Norman.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2011
at 11:00 am at the Lone Peak LDS Ward Chapel located at
285 North Matterhorn Drive, Alpine, Utah. A viewing will
be held Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services
at the church. Interment, Alpine City Cemetery. Funeral
Directors - Warenski Funeral Home of American Fork, Utah.
