Beth
Nicholes Martin-Zufall, age 81, passed away August 18, 2011
in her Apple Valley, CA home after her courageous fight
with cancer.
Beth was born in Scofield, Utah May 4, 1930 to Theadocia
(Brown) and Elmarion Nicholes. She was preceded in death
by her parents, her brother Bud, four sisters: Orlene (White),
LaRean (Kinder), Carol, and June; and husband Glenn Martin.
Surviving are her husband Robert Zufall, five children and
four stepchildren: Monty Walker of Phoenix, AZ; Nanette
(Mike) Murphy of Oak Hills, CA; Scott (Virginia) Walker
of Henderson, NV; Stuart (Mimi) Walker of Henderson, NV;
John (Jennifer) Walker of Maple Valley, WA; Gary (Kitty)
Martin of Lindale, TX; Lynette Zufall of Victorville, CA;
Eric (Linda) Zufall of Arcadia, CA; and Jan Hill of Reno,
NV. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Beth graduated from East High School in 1948. She attended
the University of Utah where she pledged Chi Omega. She
earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education
from Cal State Fullerton and later a Master’s Degree
in Special Education from Cal State San Bernardino. She
taught grades K-8 until her retirement in 1993. She was
an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints and served three full-time missions (Ohio, Honduras,
and SLC) with her eternal companion, Bob. A spontaneous
spirit, Beth loved to travel, play tennis, research genealogy,
and play games with her family.
Funeral services were held August 22, 2011 in Apple Valley,
CA. Graveside services will be at the American Fork City
Cemetery in American Fork, Utah, Saturday, August 27, 2011
at 10:00 am where she will be laid to rest next to her parents.
