Alex Kent Obituary

Alex Blair Kent

1994 ~ 2025

Alex Blair Kent, 30, passed away at home on April 29, 2025. He is the much-loved son of Blair and Terri Kent and the brother of Abi Kent.

Alex had a wonderful sense of humor and a passion for understanding how things worked. He loved researching facts about random things and sharing his knowledge with others. He had advanced degrees in “Youtubeology,” and any other online information. He could spend hours watching documentaries and absorbing data and information.

He loved being outdoors snowboarding, fly fishing, golfing and anything that would keep him active in the sun.

He grew up being a fan of University of Utah Football and this passion developed into what some would call an obsession. He started going to the games when he was 8 years old and his yells only got louder and deeper each year. Because of that passion his favorite color was red and his wardrobe selection resembled the U of U bookstore. His Utes baseball hats were constant companions.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, regardless of what his parents thought, and his many broken bones may have proven they were right.

He loved to work with his hands and his career choices lead him down that path.

He married Mallerie Brooksby, they later divorced. They had an incredible son Nash together. Later, he was with Stephanie Fitzgerald and together they had a wonderful son Kanyon. Alex loved spending time with his boys, playing with them and just being a dad. His favorite thing to do was to take them to the park to have fun feeding the ducks.

Growing up he was blessed with three bonus brothers who impacted his life forever. Daniel, Chris and Taylor were the perfect big brothers.

Alex was preceded in death by three grandparents, two aunts and one uncle and a cousin. Alex is survived by his parents, sister, Grandma Smuin, Aunts, Heather and Trish and his Uncle Ed as well as his brothers and their families and heaven-sent neighbors, Brent and Stacie who he considered second parents.

Alex’s battle with the disease of addiction is over and there is peace and hope through the Atonement of Christ.

There will be an open house on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Highland 8th Ward Chapel, located at 10390 North Alpine Highway, Highland, Utah. Alex will be laid to rest in the Highland City Cemetery.
