In Loving Memory of April Meads Moriarty
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of April Meads Moriarty, who left this world peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025 surrounded by family and loved ones. A beloved
daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, April's presence was a light in the lives of all who knew her.
Born in Pasadena, California, April lived a life filled with music, generosity, and quiet strength. She touched countless lives with her kindness, her compassion and talent. Her laughter, warmth, and wit will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to share time with her. She loved to have a good time, and could find joy in the most trying of circumstances.
April was a gifted artist whose music transcended notes on a page—her violin sang with passion, faith, and joy. Over a celebrated career spanning over 5 decades, she graced stages around the world, from the intimacy of her living room to the grandeur of renowned concert venues including the Hollywood Bowl. Her performances stirred hearts, her interpretations captivated audiences, and her dedication to the art of violin left an indelible mark all who heard her.
A graduate of Brigham Young University, April was not only a performer but also a mentor, sharing her talent and wisdom with countless young musicians as a teacher and inspiration. She believed deeply in music’s power to heal, to connect, and to uplift.
She was never too busy to listen to a friend or share wise counsel. She had a firm testimony of Jesus Christ and her Father in Heaven. They played a real role in her life. She was not afraid to share her testimony through her talents.
She is survived by her three children and two grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, and nieces who were blessed to think of her as a second mother. Her family and countless friends will carry her memory forward with love.
A celebration of life and music where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of April’s life will be held on April 17th, 2025 at the LDS chapel located at 98 East Canyon Crest Road, Alpine, UT 84004. A viewing will be held from 10:30 am to 11:30 am with a service to follow at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the liftandlove.org foundation.
