David Robert Trottier
1949 ~ 2026
David Robert Trottier passed on March 24, 2026 after a two-year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Marsha and son Alex. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
David held a master’s degree from Goddard College (Vermont), and applied his creative skills as a successful writer, college instructor, and writing consultant. He was the Communications Department Chair at the Utah Campus of the University of Phoenix where he was honored with the Distinguished Teaching Award. He has sold over a half-million copies of his books.
He enjoyed sports, the outdoors, coaching boys’ baseball, playing softball, gardening, reading, family history, and ministering in the church. Serving on a Cedar Hills committee, he helped develop and create Sunset Park and Forest Creek Trail.
His greatest joys came from his marriage to Marsha and his family life, his good friends, seeing the progress of students and clients, and his church activity and trust in Jesus.
Funeral services for David will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 10:00 am in the Cedar Hills 10th Ward Chapel, located at 9737 Chesterfield Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah 84062. Interment will follow services in the Highland City Cemetery.
