Lorraine Bagley Obituary

Lorraine Howard Bagley, May 21, 1937 - December 26, 2025

Lorraine was born to Maurice and Venna Howard in Toppenish, Washington. She had an older sister, Joyce, and a younger brother, Reese. Her dad worked for U & I Sugar Company, and when he received promotions, they would move to a new place. Their family lived in Toppenish and Moses Lake, Washington, as well as Garland, Gunnison, and Taylorsville, Utah.

Lorraine graduated from Gunnison High School. She was active in student government, assemblies, marching with the pep club, and taking part in school plays. One of those years, however, she was in a body cast to correct the spinal curvature, but that didn’t hold her back from participating.

It was at Utah State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and taught school in Utah, Arizona, and California. Her roommate introduced her to Reid, a nice young man from Ogden, Utah, who was a Navy pilot. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple. A year later, Reid left the Navy and started flying for Pan American Airlines. They lived in Berlin, Germany, where their two sons, Ryan and Curt, were born. During those years, they enjoyed exploring Europe and starting a family.

The family moved to Enumclaw, Washington, in 1972. Reid then flew for United Airlines, and Lorraine enjoyed being a homemaker. During the twelve years living there, they were blessed with two daughters, Kristin and Karen. In 1984, the family relocated to Alpine, Utah. Lorraine was active in her community, started teaching again, and loved serving in the church. During this time, the family enjoyed traveling the world together.

In 1998, Lorraine suffered the loss of her husband, Reid, and became a young widow. She built a new home in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She moved her mother (Venna) in with her, and they enjoyed their time together. Lorraine loved her Indian Springs Development and never regretted the decision to move there. The friendships and fun she had with her neighbors were the best part about this move. Lorraine was a woman of charity, lovingly serving everyone around her.

Lorraine was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and always went the extra mile in every calling she held. At the age of sixteen, she received her patriarchal blessing. This blessing was fulfilled. Lorraine was called to be the Ward Relief Society President in three different wards, Stake Relief Society President, Young Women’s President, and Stake Young Women President. She served a mission in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and loved her time working in the Mount Timpanogos Temple.

The joy of her life was her husband Reid, her four children Ryan, Curt (Saeko), Kristin (Carlos), and Karen (Ken), and her twelve grandchildren Kaitlin, Eric (Molly), Ashley, Lindsey (Mason), Kelsey (Luke), Brooklyn, Audrey, Peyton (Gen), Brandon, Nico, Alyssa, and Curtis.
