Mona Lue Page Ward
1936 ~ 2026
Mona was born 10 December 1936 in Mesa, Arizona. She was adopted at birth by her parents Mona Smith and John Byron Page. Sister of Kay Byron Page.
As a young child she had many adventures with her family living on the Mexican border in the small town of Nogales, Arizona. Her father was the Manager of the local JC Penney store.
Her family moved to beautiful San Diego, California at age 8. She grew up loving the beach, playing piano, socializing, dancing swing and attended Herbert Hoover High. She spotted the love of her life, Ronald Hal Ward, at school and they have been a team ever since.
Mona became a Cosmetologist after graduation as she waited for her Ronnie to come home from the Army.
Mona married Ronald Hal Ward in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 9 November 1957.
Ron and Mona made decisions together and their family of 5 children always came first. Mona enjoyed raising her kids and being a homemaker. She played beautiful music daily on her piano and full-size organ. Later, she also had State barber, real estate, and insurance licenses. They had great times with the kids in San Diego, Walnut Creek, and Tustin California. After retirement they split time between homes in Sun Lakes Arizona and Alpine Utah.
Mona always served in various church callings and her Faith centered her life. She knows the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the church community helped them raise a strong family.
After moving to Utah Mona became a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers organization and loved participating with them, writing histories and serving in several leadership positions. Mona was a great cook and seamstress. She also put up many types of fruit from their small orchard. She was an avid genealogist and loved going to the Temple. She and Ron also served 3 Family History missions. She was a fun kind person who gave great hugs. She loved her incredible neighbors and friends in Alpine. She has been an incredible example of cheerful resilience despite the many health challenges over the last year. The center of her life was her family and faith. She will be sorely missed until we are together again.
Mona graduated from mortality 14 May 2026 at home surrounded by family. Mona was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Ronald Ward, on 12 September 2024.
Mona is survived by her 5 Children: Sheryl (David) Dell of Mesa AZ, Susan (Steve) Robinson of Queen Creek AZ, Kent (Melissa) Ward of Alpine Utah, Sandy (Derek) Rutledge of Riverton UT and Russell (Jennifer) Ward of Gilbert AZ. 20 Grandchildren and 21 Great-Grandchildren with 2 on the way.
