He earned a BS and MS in mathematics, and EdD in education. His early years were spent surrounded by love, singing, and hard work on a farm and sheep ranch in the Kittitas Valley near Ellensburg, Washington.
Richard’s life’s work was spent as an educator, first as a teacher of mathematics and then as a seminary and institute teacher/director for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Church Educational System, from which he retired. Richard has served 5 missions for the LDS church with his beloved wife LeeAnne and served in various leadership capacities including bishop in Fair Oaks, California.
He is preceded in death by his wife Ruby Eilene Chidester, daughter Erin K Pack, parents, and all 10 siblings. Richard is survived by his wife LeeAnne Lisonbee and children: Melody (Rich) Morrow, Monica (Mike) Sullivan, (Allen Pack), Richard Jr. (Miriam) Whitaker, Noel (Darell) Lee, Robyn (Christian) Miner, Charles (Cherie) Whitaker, Elizabeth (John) MacLean, John (Melissa) Hart, Kenneth (Tiffany) Hart, Rachelle Hart, 40 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.
Richard will be lovingly remembered for his humility, love of singing, gospel scholar, ice cream cones, breakfasts, and great devotion to God and family. He’s left a huge hole in our hearts but, oh, the grand reunion that is taking place beyond the veil with much singing, laughter, and loving embraces.
