Teresa Marie Newman Robison
1959 ~ 2025
Teresa Marie Newman Robison passed away on August 12, 2025 after a brave and mighty battle with glioblastoma. She was surrounded by loving friends, her family and the caring staff of the Abbington Memory Care.
Teresa Marie Newman was born in Huntington Park California on Nov. 13, 1959. She was the daughter of Linda and Bill Newman. Teresa grew up in Fountain Vally and Westminster California. She graduated from Fountain Vally High School in 1977. Shortly after high school, Teressa earned a certificate in paralegal studies from Rancho Santiago Community College. In 1980, she was ready for a new adventure. She packed up her beloved Plymouth Valiant and moved from Southern California to SLC, Utah. She got an apartment on South Temple and landed her a job as a paralegal at Callister, Nebeker and McCullough (CNM) law firm. It was the last job she would ever have to apply for. She retired in 2024 from The McCullough Group after 44 years of service. She loved her work and her clients. In 2017 Teresa was recognized for her exceptional work by being named Paralegal of The Year in the state of Utah.
Teresa will always be remembered by her generous heart, quick wit and endless energy. She used all three of these attributes to improve the world around her. Teresa spent countless hours volunteering at various local charities and organizations including Huntsman Heroes, Odyssey House and with the Veteran Affairs. She also made many lifelong friends in the process that meant the world to her.
Huntsman Cancer Foundation and Huntsman Hero’s was one of the organizations she spent years volunteering and fundraising for. It combined two of her favorite things in life, service and running. She received a special recognition in 2022 for her many years of service.
In 2016 Teresa began volunteering her time and expertise as a paralegal in estate planning at the Veteran’s Administration Clinic. While working at the Veteran’s clinic, she saw a need to help veterans with their wills. She spearheaded the creation of a service for that purpose called “Wills for Veteran’s Clinic”. In honor of “Teresa’s many years of legal volunteer service to the veterans; the University of Utah has started an Endowed Scholarship for Veteran’s in her name. The scholarship will be awarded to Veteran’s Pursuing a Master of Legal Studies or Juris Doctor Degree.
Teresa’s love and compassion extended beyond people, she adored animals, especially her own dogs. Both of whom passed during her fight with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her father Bill Newman and her sister Laura Ledford. She is survived by her son Travis P. Robison, Step children, Jared Strain (Christina), Damion Strain (Becky), Josh Strain (Ari), grand children: Roman, Bennett, Nora; Boston, Beckett, Greyson; Lincoln. Her mother Linda Newman, her sister Dawna Dobson (Brent) and brother-in-law David Ledford.
A “Celebration of Life”, was held at Cactus and Tropical Aug. 31, 2025 in Draper, Utah.
