Ellen Linda Higley Jackson
1944 ~ 2024
Our Sweet, Cuddly, Darling, Precious, and Fancy Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, whom we all love, passed away at the age of 80 in Lehi, Utah at the home of her daughter.
She was born February 12, 1944, in Brigham City, Utah, to Donald Edwin Higley and Thelma Christina Anderson Higley. Her first home was in Black Pine, Idaho, until she was 7 months old. She then spent her youth in Snowville, Utah, until she was 12. After that, she moved to Kearns, Utah, and attended Kearns Jr. High. She then graduated from Granger High School in 1962. After high school, she attended Michelles Modeling School, worked at Safeway, and then worked at Mountain Bell Telephone Company. She married her first love, Howard Robert Jackson on April 16, 1965, in Granger, Utah. They were later sealed along with their seven-month-old daughter, Lonie, on June 15, 1967, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Callings she served in were Drama Director, Primary teacher, Cub Scout Leader, Relief Society Secretary, Homemaking Committee member, Emergency Preparedness committee, and a visiting teacher.
Those who have known and loved her have felt a great loss. She touched so many lives by her loving interactions that made you feel like you were the most important person in her life. She was fun-loving and enjoyed life to the fullest. Every endeavor that she undertook, she gave her whole heart to. Her motto was, If you cant do it well, dont do it at all, and that showed in the way she tackled Cub Scouts, making cakes, party planning, and keeping a history for church and family.
She is survived by her five children, Lonie (Doug) Rial, Lance (Leora), Shane (Leann), James (Karina), and Desiree (Trent) Newbold; her 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren (+1 on the way); 2 great great-grandchildren; one sister, Colleen (Dean) Naylor; two Brothers, Robbie (Sandie) and Brad (Kathy) Higley. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Everett Higley. The family would like to thank iCare Home Health and Hospice for all of their love and care in her final days.
