Our beloved Gerald Herbert Lindsey passed away on May 2, 2024. Jerry was born August 3, 1934, in Marshall, Missouri to Warren and Mary Lindsey. He served a mission to the Central States for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and afterward graduated from BYU with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering, and earned a Ph.D in Aeronautical Engineering from Caltech in Pasadena, CA.

Jerry married the love of his life, Beth Ellen Bryson, in the Salt Lake Temple on December 19, 1958. Together they raised their family in the Monterey, California area where he was a professor in the department of aeronautics and astronautics and Dean of Academic Administration at the Naval Postgraduate School. During that period, he served as a bishop and stake president until settling in Pleasant Grove, Utah after retiring and serving a full-time humanitarian mission to Jakarta, Indonesia with Beth.

Gifted in his role as a husband and father, Jerry leaves to his family and friends a legacy of loving leadership, gospel scholarship, and faithful discipleship. He taught by example as he loved, lifted, and blessed each one of us. Jerry joins his sweet companion, Beth, who preceded him in death, and is survived by their six (12) children: Stuart (Judy); Gregg (Darla); Kristine (Mark); Bryan (Stacie); Bradley (Camille) and Karen (B.G.). They have 25 amazing grandchildren, and 12 beautiful great grandchildren. Jerry is preceded in death by two brothers, Victor and Mark, and is survived by his youngest brother, Eric (Meridene).

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the Northfield Stake Center Chapel, located at 105 West 1800 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services at the Northfield Stake Center. Interment will be held at the Highland Cemetery immediately following services. Funeral arrangements handled by Warenski Funeral Home.
