Katsuko Kat Nakamura was born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT, but for the majority of her adult life she lived in Seattle, WA. In December 2021, Katsuko moved back to Utah to be with family and then passed away after a short illness. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her two brothers.

As an adult she worked for the federal government for almost 40 years and it gave her opportunities to move to Los Angeles, CA first and then Seattle, WA where she made her home for 40+ years.

She was known as Kat by many of her friends and colleagues and she will be missed by those whom she worked closely and volunteered her time to help. Those remaining in her family are already missing her. She had a laugh that was contagious and she remembered so many details. It made it fun to hear her share stories that passed down through the family.
