Peterson Canyon son of Tom and Lucy Canyon, passed away at his home in Lehi, Utah on October 10, 2023.

Peter was born on April 15, 1965 in Monument Valley, Utah where his father was employed in Blanding. He lived his early years in Blanding, Utah with his sisters Janet and Adaline. His father then moved the family to the Salt Lake City area for a better life. Eventually, they made their way to Lehi, their permanent residence. Peter was one of five children, the only boy amongst four sisters. Peter participated in the local athletic programs as a child. As he got into high school, he excelled in football and church basketball. When older, he worked for Riverton Motors as a detail specialist. He was a dedicated worker that took pride in his work and always provided the best service.

Peter was an ideal neighbor, who would take pride in the neighborhood, his yard work. He was constantly looking out for others. On Snowy mornings, it was common to see Peter shoveling the sidewalks and driveways throughout the neighborhood. The outdoors was his love, which included hunting and fishing with his father. His favorite place was traveling to Alaska with his sister Janet. He would always say, Alaska is Gods country. We all believe that is where Peters heaven is.

Although Peter will be greatly missed and we mourn for his loss, we are glad to know that he has found the ultimate peace as he is greeted in heaven by many beloved family members whom he has long waited to embrace.

Peter is survived by his mother Lucy, sisters Adaline (Todd) Texas, Gwen (Wade) New Mexico and Sheila Canyon of Idaho. He is preceded in death by his father Tom Canyon and his sister Janet Canyon.

A viewing is scheduled in Provo Utah at the Franklin 2nd Ward Chapel, located at 2530 West 200 South, Provo, Utah on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 6:00-7:00 pm. An additional viewing is scheduled for Monday, October 23, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 am at the Blanding 5th Ward Chapel, located at 205 East 200 North, Blanding Utah. Immediately following the viewing, the interment will take place at the Blanding City Cemetery on 500 North Grayson Parkway, Blanding, Utah.
